Does this send my password anywhere?

No. The entire evaluation runs in your browser using local JavaScript — your password is never transmitted over the network, logged, or stored anywhere, including by us.

What does "bits of entropy" mean?

It's a measure of how unpredictable a password is, based on its length and the variety of character types used. Roughly speaking, more bits means exponentially more attempts a computer would need to guess it through brute force.

Why did a long password still score poorly?

Length alone isn't enough — the evaluator also checks for common passwords, sequential characters (like "abcd" or "1234"), and repeated characters, all of which make a password much easier to guess than its raw length suggests.

How is the generated password created?

It uses your browser's built-in secure random number generator (the Web Crypto API), not a predictable pseudo-random function — the same category of randomness used in real cryptographic applications.
